PURPOSE: To make available to low and moderate income elderly, handicapped and families, safe, standard dwellings that are conducive to good living, both socially and economically. We wish to cooperate with all agencies within our community to provide a more cohesive attitude in working with and providing service to tenants in low-income housing.
WHO OVERSEES THE MADISON HOUSING AUTHORITY?
The Mayor with the consent of the City Council, appoints the members of the Authority for a five year term. The Authority is composed of five residents who volunteer their time. The members attend a regular monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of the month as well as other meetings as needed.
